Rez to Residential Mission

Healthy housing is the most research-proven upstream indicator of ongoing health and wellness. We are committed to innovative and dynamic approaches to enable Native Americans in Minnesota the resources to help buy, build, and maintain permanent housing in urban environments and reservation land.

Rez to Residential Vision

We envision a future reminiscent of the matriarchal strength of our past when women were considered sacred life-givers of the community, they were the heads of households and maintained a community-focused society that enhanced health and wellness for their whole tribe, and we all benefited living in our connection to the land.

Minnesota's overall homeowner rate is 71.9% but that drops to 49.5% for Indigenous residents.

Per the Minnesota Housing Disparities Report, 2021

It's not just about buying, but also maintaining, improving, and thriving in healthy housing.

Some Native homeowners do not have the knowledge and resources to repair or renovate their homes to create safe and healthy housing where they are.

This will be achieved through various concurrent means
